Family Photoshoot in Kuala Lumpur: One Hour, Iconically KL
By Jon Low
This is how a family photoshoot in Kuala Lumpur runs.
Family sessions are about an hour, in the morning, for the light, and it gets warm quickly.

Why a photographer
01
Who books a family session in KL
Both, mostly visiting families wanting KL memories.
Young family hiring a photographer to document their daily life, exploring our own city is a great weekend activity. Just 3 or 4 of them doing the usual Malaysian thing. A Batu Caves hike up. A weekend hiking trail.

02
Iconically KL
These are iconically unique KL experiences, iconically KL.

03
Small children
Take photo with her, show her the frame, parents interacting with her as she would when travelling.
When all fails, bribe.

04
What to wear
Something matching, a reflection of the family. Doesn’t need to be uniformed. Same idea. Like warm colors, or all colorful.
05
Why a photographer
Well for one, a photographer could be the one taking the photos and not the mom or the dads. So all of them in a family unit are photographed.
A photographer’s trained eyes, good compositions, more produced yet, timeless and believable. Natural, posed, and unposed.
