Engagement Shoot

We are relaunching Engagement shoot! I’ve been doing engagement shoot which coupled with Wedding portraits when I travel mostly, and I thought it would be nice to be able to shoot casual portraits like this near where I stay. Plenty of good light from where I am.

Spend 2 hours with me in the morning or late evening to get these wonderful photographs, which you then can upload these proofs on your facebook album, flickrs or you may even print them 4R. If you so decide with purchasing albums with Jon Low Studios, we will bring out the finesse of the photograph so it look amazing in the albums that we carry.

Let us hear you out. Fill in the Contact Us page and we will get back to you soon!

Hello guys, blogging on jonlow.com took a back seat these few weeks while I took time off completing various albums and dateline and busy indulging on gotMojo? camp. If you haven’t heard of RedNinja.tv , perhaps this is a good time to head over to our RedNinja.tv blog site to keep up to date what I’ve been buzzing recently.

I have to admit that I am way back with blog posting. I’ve got weddings from 2009 and still haven’t make their debut on the blog. Work is as busy as always, bookings are coming in consistantly nowadays. May, Jun and July is full for Wedding Day Photography, while I am still available for Wedding Portraits during these period. August is a little slow for me, but it’s a great time to really catch up the work. There are limited dates available in September and October while November strangely I’m quite available. December is peak for us every year and this year is no different. So, send in your enquiries quick and save your dates!

Speaking about enquiries, I have recently got help from a fellow ex bride of mine whom she now turn my PA. She is currently assisting me in getting Jon Low Studios organized. If you haven’t heard from me in the emails, that’s because Kate is answering them. Trust me, she’s a lot more efficient than I am.

I would be speaking at DCIM, together with the RedNinja.tv crew. It would be held in Midvalley coming 15th of May 2010. Will report on that when I’ve gotten more details!

Let’s get into the interesting bits of this post. Yes, pictures! Here are some of my favourites of portfolio taken for Sonia and Dennis. This wedding was shot in December.

Here is a tip. Dress up the parents as they will look good in our photographs!

Do you have videos that when you watch it gives you goose bumps? I have several. They are keepers. They motivates me. They pick me up when I feel lost, and instead of beating myself up, I find comfort and inspiration from watching these videos again and again.

I was going through my hard drive and bumped into this video again after some time. Let me share this video with you:

He had 30 million views to date. The video went viral on youtube when it was launched. What an incredible video. This was probably one of his finest ones produced. Great use of the music score, with many points in the that works well. I particularly love how the people join in the dances, the wave covering Matt, and the cutest of all – the indian dance group.

It was a video, and behind the video was Matt, and his story to who is he, how did the idea came from and how he work on the idea making it real. It was an experience – traveling around the world and be part of his own adventure. And, what a aftermath – a viral video hit. Incredible stories and experiences and satisfaction.

Well, if you have watched most of the video featured here, perhaps you are inspired as well. This video touched me, giving me permission to go work on an idea that I have, and reminding me that it’s very achievable.

Happy inspiring Sunday, you guys! Thanks for being part of my inspiration.

Client that trust my work, I notice, they book me early. There is this leap of faith and trust that I would do a good job in photographing the once in the lifetime wedding. I remember Aarathi, we probably communicated a couple of times over the email, but the first time I met you, it was in Melbourne Central’s Starbucks during my visit on Autumn in Melbourne 2009 project that I did. I met Steve a lot later in KL on later date nearer to their wedding.

I know I am dealing with a great client. Their eye sparkles when they talk to you – as though they found gold, and I totally melt. I felt so much appreciation just by showcasing my portfolio. Here is an honest mistake, I melted… till I misquoted a lot of albums! Let’s just say that they got a very good deal – And no, I don’t think I will repeat the same mistakes again.

I always awed covering mix culture weddings. Learning cultures, accepting the differences, adapting in a completely different world which we use to be shaped from our own family culture and values.I guess that makes us human. We are just great explorer.

No monkey business. Batu Caves is an interesting location to shoot a wedding. The monkeys self invites to be part of the wedding party.

Hello guys,

What’s brewing? RedNinja.tv ! I am participating in the camp, and will be running a short session during the camp. The camp is anchor by Wiki Lee, I love his leet video + photography slideshows that he has done, and I personally love his warm feel in the wedding portraits which I myself would love to learn from the master himself! Am looking forward.

There are 5 of us Ninjas who will be running the camp – Jenny Sun (Jenny Sun Photography), Grace Tan (Stories.my) , Alex (Integricity) , and Mark Leo ( Stories.my)

We are at our last pace of registration for the camp. It will be on the 24th and 25th April 2010 over at Corus Paradise PD. We have plenty that we prepare for the participants, and I bet you, it would be fun.

Remember to sign up now!!! :)
